Gardens & Parks - ann hyde

Looking out of our daughter's living room recently....I saw this little blue tit on the bird box.  Thought it made a good start sketch to Gardens & Parks...

Mechanical pencil (i love this pencil)

  1. A lovely delicate painting, as delicate as the bluetits themselves. Your weather down in Devon must be warmer than up in Lancashire here. Only the pigeons, as always, seem to be canoodling so far. I love the gentle colours you have used.

    1. Hi Jez, I think it must be ...although this afternoon has turned a bit colder, we have even considered putting the heating on! (hate to think what the cost will end up like!!!).

    1. Thanks Joan, something very nice about being able to sit on a comfy sofa and watch the world in the garden all at the same time, :-)

  5. I'm glad that the English meaning of the word "garden" is actually what we in the states would call a back yard! We surely won't be seeing any vegetable or flower gardens this time of year. But I have a good view of my "garden", so I'll give that a shot. Lovely, delicate painting, Ann!

    1. ...and we say Yard for a small concrete area with no grass, the kind of place that houses bikes and a shed. :-)

  7. Interesting how the same language can mean different things in different countries! Yes, I can also see such birds from my window, in the winter they come to eat from the food placed for birds, later they look after a place to make their nest in. Wonderul job with this, Ann!

  9. Glad you mentioned that bit about garden being our yard. I have so much to paint right here in my own back yard! Your bird is lovely.
