Gardens and Parks, Summer Flowers, by Elaine (jaguarish)

Yesterday, the last official day of summer here in Australia, my daughter and I made time for a quick walk around the local neighbourhood.  These are some of the flowers we found along the way, including some from our own garden.

  1. I love the image and idea of mother and daughter walking together observing and drawing flowers together! What memories she'll have! Love these journal pages.

  2. Your paintings of the flowers are so delicate and pretty. The butterfly plant is new to me, but it looks so well-named, and the bird of paradise 'flower' is lovely, it is not the easiest of plants to draw even though it looks apparently simple. Sounds a lovely walk.

  3. I would be very happy to find these flowers on my walks, lucky you. Love your painting :-)

  4. Love the flowers you found on your walk!!! There are so many lovely varieties that you sketched. Great sketches of them. It is always funny to think of people somewhere else in the world in a different season.

  5. It must have been a nice walk, with all these lovely flowers. It is odd to think of summer happening at the beginning of the year.

  6. Nice walk and so pretty flowers as resultat of it. Melisa, it is so rare to think that you are leaving the summer now and we are getting the same!

  7. Beautiful sketches. Like others above who live in the northern hemisphere, it sounds strange to us to call March a summer month.
