Close to Home in My Own Backyard Lynn Cohen
Okay, I know I should be patient, wait for others to post first, I just posted and here I am posting again! But I'm excited to draw again.
I went outside, it's 60 degrees out, chilly, I was barefoot ... Henry V, our cat, got up on the three cut slices of tree left from when we had to cut down a large tree in our backyard late last year.
He decided to take a bath there.
I drew the flower pot with the red geraniums first, they are so faithful coming back year after year. The rabbit peeking out of the flower pot was a gift from my friends Cris and Con, they make them themselves. Henry's happy there. The spool table top on the far right on the half wine barrel has been in my life since the 1970's. It was once my kitchen table back then.
Anyway, good morning from slightly overcast California. We so need rain. Perhaps it will this weekend.
Be well where ever you are. And if you want to talk about that on your posts so we can all get to know each other a little bit better that would be great!

You can be impatient and post whenever you want, Lynn. This looks like such a cozy spot in your yard...and obviously the cat agrees if he is bathing there. 60 degrees sounds downright tropical to me over here. lol
ReplyDeleteLynn, when I log onto bogspot and go to the "Paint, Paper, Pencils, and Pens" page I don't get the option of a new post appearing. Am I not approved yet?
DeleteJoan, I have sent you an invite to join. When you respond to that your gateway will be open to post here. I sent it to the tav3 address. ;-)
DeleteGreat job Lynn. Love seeing Henry and our art in your yard. :))
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cris. All your art in and out of my home warms my heart!
DeleteLooks like a lovely day in your neck of the woods today! I think your cat approves. We finally got some sunshine today. It was wonderful to see the blue sky.
ReplyDeletePS - I notice you have me listed by first name only in the list to the right. In case you want to add it, my last name is McCurley.
Thanks, Melisa, and that issue has been resolved, thanks for bringing it to my attention.
DeleteSuch a nice day you depicted! Gotta try a drawing with one of my Sharpies. Waterproof is good! That long skinny paper sounds like fun, too! I think I have a mental block, but I'll come up with something eventually! You go ahead and post as many pictures as you want to, lol!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa. I had to get away from the computer and look around me since I was at home, I just drew the first thing that caught my eye. Then the cat jumped into my picture! ;-)
DeleteWhat an inviting yard! I thought CA had a lot of rain last week? I know it's a big state, so you must not have gotten it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kim. We did get rain last week, and last night again, thank goodness! As we are in a bad drought year and dearly need rain.we are mid state, in what's called The Bay Area outside San Francisco!
DeleteLynn, your cat is amazing! I love how you've done his shape and captured his presence. And I am thinking good thoughts for rain for you guys. I remember the drought in the 80's. Not fun. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret, you warm my heart with your reaction to my cat drawing!
