All Kinds of Trees, Almost Bare Tree by Elisa Choi

Sketched this on location on a windy afternoon at Changi Coastal. I like how the branches are slowly being stripped bare while the remaining leaves still managed to hang in the branches.

Lovely trees all of you are sharing! Who doesn't like trees? I would hug them if only there are no ants in them! :)

All kinds of trees, chocolate box assortment, by Elaine

Hi everyone, it was great to come back to see how busy you've all been and see the great variety of trees.  I seem to have done lots of trees but here are a few of my favorites:

Lego tree - Pitt Street Mall - Sydney, New South Wales
watercolour on 'stone' paper (Repap/Ogami notebook)

Flame trees (one yarn-bombed) - Blackwood Street, Mitchelton (Brisbane), Queensland
ink & watercolour

Pine tree, Mashobra Street, Mitchelton (Brisbane), Queensland
bent nib fountain pen

New Farm Park, Brisbane, Queensland
watercolour first, followed by ink lines

Weyba Creek, Noosaville, Queensland
drawn by focussing on the negative spaces between branches

All Kinds of Trees, Pine on Yupo, Penny StewArt

One of my favorite tree paintings, done on Yupo paper with watercolor, pen and ink. For sale on DPW. The ones I like seem to take forever to sell.  LOL.

All Kinds of Trees by Sirkka Jalava

It`s gone a long time since I last had a posting here. Now I came to see, what you are doing and saw, that the theme now is all kinds of trees.- I was out last spring and made plein air painting with some others, it was early spring, mars or begin of april, so there were no leafs in the threes yet so they looked like ghosts. You can see that with own eyes.
An an other drawing of trees which already have some green, but the light gets down free.

Trees of all kinds: Critter Christmas Gift Box Tree

I did this for another challenge on another site with the topic of "boxes". (My other "tree" offering was done for this site and also used for the "box" theme, ou know, boxwood tree!- I am involved in a painting a day )
.I am throwing it in here since it is a "tree" of sorts, and just for fun! Kind of expands the topic to absurdity, which is my forte.

This one photographed in soft focus for some reason. It is brightly colored Mixed media, aceo size (the only size I do), my usual critter theme.

"Critter Christmas Gift Box Tree - Morty Mouse is balanced atop the Christmas Gift Box Tree as Cory Catz and some of Morty's mouse cousins cheer him on. You'll notice that Marvin Maus is exploring the contents of one of the boxes - he always did have difficulty waiting."

All Kinds of Trees, Lynn Cohen

In case you can't read the writing on the drawing I drew this tree through the car window this morning while Fred went to the ATM for cash before going to Starbucks to draw. I painted it at Starbucks.
It's a grand old tree!
I drew it for HERE!

Trees, Julie Huston

It has been a while since I posted anything here.  So here is a tree my son Charles, did a while back.
Here is one he did recently, because I told him of the the upcoming theme.

This last one is one I drew a while back, when I wanted to learn how to draw a tree.

All Kinds of Trees - Topiary Co-op Apartments - Donna Bickley

Topiary Co-op Apartments - Monty Maus and Kilmer Katz families have jointed together to set up house in an abandoned topiary Boxwood tree (you can see it needs some trimming and is certainly out-of-control).. The mice are having trouble with the altitude (being used to living near the floors of houses. The Katz, on the other hand are happy as clams up in a tree.

All Kinds of Trees: Losing leaves by Bev Baird

As I began sketching the tree against the blue background I thought of falling leaves. I had just purchased a placemat made of leaves and I cut one leaf off and used it to stamp leaves around the tree.

My end goal though, was to use this as the backdrop for a quote by Abraham Lincoln.

All Kinds of Trees, Lynn Cohen's "Fig Tree"

I only had to go into my own backyard to draw this huge fig tree of ours. I did it almost as a blind contour with just a little peeking. There were so many leaves to draw! I hope I gave the illusion as to just how large this tree is. We have to cut it back some almost every other year or it overtakes the whole side of the yard. The sky is dark blue today and there was a breeze blowing the leaves. I could see some hints of purple as some of the figs are ripening! They will be so delicious when ready to eat! Like eating candy off a tree!

When we were staying on Montego Bay, Jamaica a storm blew through at sunset so I painted this palm tree using water colors & mixed media.

All kinds of Trees, Tropical Sunset, Penny Stewart

Tropical Sunset (or Sunrise?) I can never tell which it is.  These palm trees were a favorite of my students in the Acrylic Painting classes I taught at Michael's a few years ago. It was easy to paint and always looked good, no matter the skill of the painter.

I love beach scenes so I wanted to share my Palm Trees.

All Kinds of Trees, Feathery Tree by Elisa Choi

The famous tree at the Upper Seletar Reservoir is this feathery tree and I sketched it on location admiring its feathery leaves and sturdy trunk. It is famous because it is the only tree on the spot near the water surrounded by some benches. Many couples had their photoshoots there.
