Journal page from Anya, Cups and Mugs, Anya (Elaine's daughter)

Sorry to come in late with this, but my daughter Anya (age 9) asked me to add her contribution for the "Cups and Mugs" theme.  I thought you would enjoy seeing this page -- she has become so confident in her drawing and journalling!  The cup shown is my everyday mug for my morning espresso.

Cups & Mugs, A coffee cup, Sirkka Jalava

These sweet coffee cups I use when I will have a little more beauty in the everyday routines. I like the shape of cups and the rose decorations.

Cups and Mugs - "Juan In A Million" by Arnoldo L. Romero

When I saw the current theme, I immediately remembered this mug by "Fonda for Recycled Paper Products," which my wife gave when we were dating over 20 years ago.  I love the whimsical, but sweet pun on it.  I used micron pens to sketch it, as well as blended watercolor pencils.  I didn't blend the table or background, because I liked the texture.  Blessings!

I was so delighted when my husband

bought me a mug....

and then I turned it around

and read the inscription!

Cups and Mugs, "Mom's Royal Doulton Cups", Lynn Cohen

My mother collected Royal Doulton cups and figurines. I guess I inherited them. They are in a hutch in our living room. It was fun to draw them. The guy on the left always reminded me of my grandpa Abe, got his smile. Don't think these were ever intended for drinking. They are hand painted china.

Cups and Mugs, Cup Tower by Joan Tavolott

I needed to sketch 3 of something for the scavenger hunt over on WetCanvas, so I decided to do mugs so it would fit here too.

Cups and Mugs, Kitchen table by Margaret Coote

I love the growing jungle on my kitchen table. I sketched it the other day, along with one of my favorite mugs.

Any hints on drawing handles? I find them so hard!

"Grandma Ella's Sugar Bowl", Cups & Mugs, Lynn Cohen

Here's the sugar bowl that goes to Grandma Ella's china set, that is now my china set, which I rarely use. But it's fun to draw. I wonder, who in the family will want it next? I gave my mother's fine china to my daughter. It has a very sedate double or triple silver band on all white Lenox china. She uses it for special occasions.
