Well, I don't have a style. LOL. So I have been painting the masters in the hopes of finding one that fits me, but so far I am just having fun learning about all the painters who do have styles. I find that most of them have many different ways of interpreting a subject, and they evolved over the years to do many styles. As I paint each one, I read about the artist, his life and his art, and I am educating myself. I have learned to like Picasso, which is amazing to me because I used to say it did not appeal to me at all. If you want to see some of my almost 30 replicas of Miniature Masterpieces, go to my
Ebay store. They are all ACEO size, 3.5 x 2.5 inches, and done in acrylics.
Here is my latest Van Gogh. He painted pink roses originally, but they faded over the years, so you have to imagine what it might have been before time took its toll. I do mat them for framing in a 5x7 or 4x6 size.
and a few that sold already,
Thomas Lawrence
Cezanne
Gainsborough
Picasso
These are so good Penny....I can see these artists approving. I don't have a style, or at least I don't think I do, I like trying different things to see how they fit :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are all terrific. I see the artist's signature in each of them. You are very good at this. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lynn and ann for your encouragement. I know artists use to paint the Masters to learn their craft.

ReplyDeleteThese are great! Congratulations on your sales. I have been trying to find "my" style for a while now. Have a GREAT PPF and keep on making those ACEO's! Is the one that is framed and ACEO? Rasz #62
ReplyDeleteYes, they are all ACEO, and I provide a mat with each of them so they can be framed easily, either 4x6 or 5x7.
Deletei think you do have a style, but you haw mimicked van gogh so well here! hard to believe it is an aceo!
ReplyDeleteLovely interpretations of the masters' work. We all have our own style and as we grow/change, our style may change. Blessings, Janet PPF
