I just want to say how happy I am that so many of the artists here are posting their wonderful
Gardens & Parks art. I love the enthusiasm for making art, sharing art, and encouraging and inspiring each other that continues to happen here!
Thanks to you all so much!
This is just so much fun!!!!!
Welcome to our backyard (again) .... I've dawn this corner before, several times probably. This time I sat in my family room with the door open and drew from inside/out. The sun umbrella is still rolled on the wine barrel spool table where it's been all "winter". Not that we really had much of a winter. The redwood trees look fairly authentic. I do not know why the left side of my scanner blurs like this, but it does. You can almost see Cris' bunny in the pot with the red geraniums. They are growing full bore now so they pretty much cover him.

I love the looseness of your sketches. I am still pretty tight with my scenes. But practice makes perfect. Those chairs look really inviting! What kind of paper do you use? I love the way wc bleeds and runs. The paint does the painting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Penny, this was done in a Nature Sketch "artist quality sketchbook, heavyweight, natural white drawing paper, excellent for use with pencil, charcoal, pen & ink, acrylics, Pastels & watercolors" Neutral pH, 25% cotton, 130 lb." description taken from the front of the 11" X 8.5" sketchbook.
DeleteI've been practicing regularly for this my third year!
Nice chairs in your yard. I'm hoping to sit with my ipad in my backyard today. Life has been busy. Love your sketch Lynn. I can see you sitting there, perhaps digging in your garden. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gloria, I look forward to your drawings from your iPad in your backyard. Hope you have some shade so you can see the screen outdoors well! ;-) I haven't done any yard "digging" in some time. Pots yes, but the yard is all filled in now.
DeleteWhat a wonderful outdoor sitting place. It looks so inviting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fran. We've had some good talks out there!
DeleteYes, your redwoods are very realistic…I'd know them anywhere :) Love this corner of your garden Lynn.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret, stop by anytime and we can sit out there and chat and draw together.
DeleteLove to! :)
DeleteIt looks like a perfect spot to relax with a cup of coffee and ponder the secrets of the universe. Those striped chairs look so lively.
ReplyDeleteYes, Joan, I solve many world problems out there! ;-)
DeleteOk what are you doing with my bunny??? Oh..you mean the wooden one Con made. Lol sweet sketch, love those red wood trees. We have one nearby in the neighbors yard getting very tall. Happy sketching.
ReplyDeletewhat a cozy backyard Lynn. The green striped chairs caught me and I like how you can just see there and sketch or even rest. Lovely work!
ReplyDeleteOh how I would love to be sitting beneath those lovely red redwoods in the stripy chairs, with some warmth and sunshine, and perhaps Lynn with bring out a glass of home-made lemonade and a biscuit/cookie.
ReplyDeleteI always love your loose style and am still struggling to loosen up - but even if my latest drawing doesn't look loose, I am now working much more confidently and quickly, and hopefully in time the looseness will come along too. Enjoying PPPP so much, thank you.
