As mother nature works things out I thought I would post a sketch I did last spring.
While visiting the MSU Horticultural Gardens in East Lansing MI. I had a chance to do a quick watercolor in my Moleskine. It was a fantastic warm day and sitting on a park bench while painting this was loads of fun.
Watercolor. watercolor pencil, fountain pen in Moleskine about 5x7

wonderful sketch and colors Rob. I really like the fading away of the greens in the background like mist all over. Sketching outside is sure fun

DeleteI love the warm tones of this painting, and the perspective. And the shadow on the inside of the pot.

DeleteI love your painting with the off-centre placement of the flowers and column, and the shadows to give them depth and reality. The colours are so warm I can feel the warm day you were enjoying, and I too admire the fading background to highlight the foreground so well. So much enjoyed looking at this.
