Wildlife, "Skool Page", Lynn Cohen
In Sketchbook Skool this week my teacher is Cathy Johnson, the author of some 31 books, a naturalist, artist, etc. etc. etc. She is asking us here to draw forms, shapes of the birds more than the details. I think I got the feel of this one of our favorite owl friends, who live in our town in burrows under the ground made by squirrels in the area. We visit them often. This is drawn not live, but from a photo I took of him awhile back. The middle bird is one Cathy drew to demonstrate. That's sort of her head too up at the top on my art journal page about the lesson.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Laurie! It's fun isn't it! Nice to share art with you in both places!
Deletewhat a fab expression
ReplyDeleteThanks! They are delightful to see in person!
DeleteYou've done a great job on this page Lynn.
ReplyDeleteGreat sketch of the owl! I like seeing your entire page with bits of what Cathy (yes, I recognized her before you said who it was) is doing in her klass. My Altoid tin never worked well...the lid rusted. I'm much happier with my little palette. Good work, Lynn!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan! Sweet you recognized Cathy from my few lines!
