Earlier we lived in Sweden and on summertime we used to take a boat and travel to Finland. We lived in the town Stockholm and when it was vocation-, holidaytime, it was nice to spend that on countryside. Especially for the kids it was an experience. I have now sketched a beach, you can see the sea and forest reflections on the water, a boat floating and buoies floating on the water. Here the children could paddle with canoes with an instructeaur. And swim on the left side we dont see here.
Just close to the shore there is a service house, where you we could take a shower, bath in the sauna, get our food and coffee. And sleep if we wanted. Perfect!
Oh, this looks like a perfect spot for a vacation, Sirkka! I'm sure the children as well as the adults really enjoyed it. I love the sketches of the area and the building!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joan! Everyone enjoying the summer and being outdoors in the nature!
DeleteWow, Sirkka, I love this. Such a beautiful scene.
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret! 'we allways are enjoying when we are near the water.
DeleteWhat a lovely spot to vacation! And your drawings/paintings of this area quite soothingly beautiful with it's light colors.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lynn, the light colors come perhaps from the nordic light, soft and and gentle on summertime, much light and never completly dark. But unfortunately only on ca three months time.
DeleteSounds like a relaxing holiday! Great sketches and very nice colors especially at the lower picture!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mia! You know how we allways will enjoy the summer time!
DeleteThese are wonderful watercolors of the houses and buildings. This looks like it would be a great vacation place for adults and children too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Fran! When the children are small the vacations must go on their conditions. And here they enjoyed!
Deletevery nice Sirrka and i can imagine how relaxing it is to spend summer where you are. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Elisa! The summer time is relaxing time for us, we gather power and inspiration that we can get through the dark and cold wintertime.
DeleteThis is such an interesting contrast with Fran's Toronto piece in the newer post above you, with her bright, hot colours, and your peaceful, cool colours which convey the feeling of Sweden so well. You have included so much detail on the water, and it looks a quiet serene place where I could happily spend a holiday. I wondered what size your paintings are?
ReplyDeleteJez, I have thought the same thing, here the colors are more soft, no bright colors, the sky is blue or grey, the green is the most color in summers, and the blue of seas and the sky. In my London-painting the whole sky was yellow, here could I never paint a yellow sky, perhaps partly at the sunrise or -set. I think you could enjoy this place too. Thank you Jez, for your comment. My sketches are often from my Fabriano-sketchbook, size 21x29,7 cm or 8"1/4x11"3/4.
