On Sunday I just could not stop drawing and painting!
It's obvious that spring has sprung in our California front yard at home.
This beautiful bush is one huge bouquet of pink/rose colored flowers with just a bit of green showing through. Multiply the lavender ten fold and the yellow small lilies too. I would have been out there all day and gotten sunburned had I drawn them all.
Such a joy to share this with you all, especially those of you still dealing with snow and cold.
Hopefully, this will brighten your day where you are too.

Wow, Lynn, it is unbelievable that you have so many flowers allready! What a beautiful painting! It really brightens my day. I was just sketching a snowy landscape in my front yard! With morning sun. I can imagine how beautiful you have in your garden. Thanks for sharing and cheering up us who still have snow (and -5C).
ReplyDeleteI'm glad this brightened your day. It was VERY BRIGHT here! And yes, in California it is springtime, but we are not gloating. We are in the worst drought in the history of the state and we are sorely needing rain! Please do a rain dance for us, thanks!
DeleteThis is lovely, must be so nice to have such a wonderful plant in your garden.
ReplyDeleteI am happy I planted this one. It's been a faithful beauty for the almost 26 years since we moved into this house and chose plants for our gardens.
DeleteI want to see flowers in bloom too!!! Thanks for sharing a little of the look of spring in full bloom with us. I guess eventually we will catch up with you.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will, eventually; and by then we will be boiling in heat of summer.
DeleteLove it! Nice job. Makes me want to go outside and pot some plants. Great job.
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you do just that Gloria! Thanks.
DeleteWhat a beautiful spring day you had! I love seeing your pretty blooms!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melisa.
DeleteNice light and spring like water colors. Nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Fran.
DeleteDon't you just love those days when the muse is by your side and making art is like floating on a cloud? Me, too! We have those pink bushes here too. I wonder what they are? I have been trying to emulate this style, but so far not having much luck. Love this painting!
ReplyDeleteI think the bush may have "tea" in its name. Japanese tea? something like that if I recall correctly.
DeleteEmulate my style? Wow, that's quite the compliment from a seasoned artist as yourself. Thank you so much.
Fun sketch. I love spring greens and pinks. How come Henry's not in the pix. Lol
